Run from source

Running it

The source code runs on Windows, macOS and Linux with Node 24 or newer. It has only been packaged and tested as an app on Windows.

npm install
npm run app                 # open it in its own window
npm start                   # or in your browser, at http://127.0.0.1:4111
npm start -- --port 8080    # use a different port

Both ways use the same settings, index and scan history, so you can switch between them.

Inspecting a catalog

If a catalog doesn't match anything, check what's in it:

npm run probe:catalog -- "D:/Lightroom/Photos.lrcat"

This shows which tables the catalog has, how many files have a capture time, and which cameras are recorded. Close Lightroom first, because it locks the file.
